Engineering for the fashionista at heart

Whilst surfing the interwebs late last night in a fit of sheer boredom, i stumbled upon a piece of jewelry that quite surprised me in its ingenuity and its flawless design. the Kinekt Gear Ring demonstrates shockingly creative kinetic design where, by turning the outer bezel the miniature gears on the face of the ring turn, causing the opposing bezel to rotate in the opposite direction. want factor? High

Can be had for $165 from Kinekt Design studio

New Atwood tool caught my eye

The New Atwood Fixer caught my eye early this morning whilst trolling through Peter Atwoods tool blog, ive been a fan of looking at his creations for a while now( sadly i am yet to make enough moolah to purchase one of the beautiful tools myself) my favorite being his bladed series and this new addition is just one more thing to drool over. while it lacks the captive bit feature of the Ringthing or sharktooth it still looks fantastically usefull

for more info about atwood tools and where to get them follow the link in the Bloggerific! section
or click the image of the fixer above

Cheers!

NEEDED KNOWLEDGE!

When people ask me about myself, one of the first things i always say is i am a tinkerer. My eighth and ninth grade science and humanities teacher Mark Bell helped me sculpt my base of ethics and my way of life by helping me blow things up, carry a pocket knife, and take apart any piece of machinery i can touch all during school hours.

it is very rare that i find someone who so utterly agrees with my system of ethics and how i lead my life, but being a TED addict i recently came across a man named Gever Tulley who is the founder of the Tinker school.
it is an odd occurrence when i almost automatically gain respect for someone but this man has earned my respect.
